Two-months-old Baby, Charlotte of Cambridge was christened in a beautiful ceremony at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Norfolk, England on July 5.
Now she is officially Princess Charlotte of Cambridge!
The lovely ceremony which took place at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England was filled with beautiful royal tradition and attended by Charlotte’s royal family, Dad, Mom and big brother; Kate, Prince William, Prince George, Charlotte’s grandparents on both sides of the family, Maria Teresa Borrallo(Charlotte’s nanny) and Charlotte’s newly annouced God parents. The ceremony led by Queen Elizabeth II, was conducted by the head of the Church of England, the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev, Justin Welby.
Charlotte wore the same garment her brother Prince George wore during his intimate christening ceremony. The beautiful and definately royal satin and lace garment is a replica of the original made for Queen Victoria‘s first child in 1841. Ever since, up util 2008, it has been worn by every royal baby for their christening. However, the queen ordered that a copy be made because it became too fragile. (Basically that means old).
The 1-year-old future king, Prince George, made an adorable appearance dressed in white shirt with red detailing and red shorts.. He proved he was a big boy by walking to the ceremony with his family while holding hands with dad Prince William and waving adorably at the cheering crowd. He looked cuter than ever!
Royal fans who waited anxiously and patiently for the the Princess’ godparents to be annouced were more than excited when it was finally annouced. Suprisingly, hours before the ceremony, five friends and family were announced as Charlotte’s God parents; Tom van Straubenzee (a key part at Will and Kate’s 2011 wedding), James Meade (Will’s classmate at Eton College), Sophie Carter (Kate’s Friend), Laura Fellowes (Princess Diana’s sister’s daughter), and Adam Middleton (Kate’s cousin).
