Nicole Richie and Anne Hathaway shocked with their new hair looks at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala.
Nicole Richie and Anne Hathaway used the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala to show off drastic new hairstyles. Stylish celebrities gathered in New York City yesterday to celebrate the museum’s latest exhibition, PUNK: Chaos to Couture. Both fashionistas embraced the punk theme by sporting edgy hair in exciting new shades.
Anne is usually known for her brunette locks, but yesterday showed off bleached blonde look at the Met Ball. Dressed in a black Valentino gown, the usually refined actress looked vampy and daring.
According to Just Jared, the 30-year-old revealed her look is inspired by Debbie Harry and her dress is vintage from 1992. It’s not the first time Anne has drastically changed her look, having chopped off her long hair for her role as Fantine in musical movie Les Misérables.
Nicole also decided to shake things up by going for an eerie, white hairstyle. The style queen looked ethereal on the red carpet with her bouffant hair and a long, white bejewelled gown. The star posed with Julianne Hough on the red carpet, with both expected to sit at the Topshop table.
Miley Cyrus also embraced the punk theme with spiked blonde hair and a netted Marc Jacobs floor length gown.
Pregnant Kim Kardashian made a statement at the Met Gala in a floral dress designed by Riccardo Tisci, complete with matching gloves and shoes. The 32-year-old has been heavily criticised for her maternity style choices and apparently had to make major changes to her frock to fit in her growing bump.
“She had the Givenchy severely altered at the last minute on orders of her new stylist,” an insider told Life & Style magazine.
Katy Perry looked regal at the fashion event in a Dolce & Gabbana number complete with a golden crown and huge earrings.
Also in attendance was Madonna sporting a severe black bob haircut, while Beyoncé Knowles looking radiant in black and gold Kenzo.
