Perhaps we were too quick to criticise Justin Bieber for his odd behaviour lately. After all, who among us can be sure what it takes to survive in space?
It could be overalls. It could be yellow hats. It could be leather shirts. It could be abandoning your pet monkey in Germany after parading shirtless through a Polish airport after freaking out at a photographer — before terrorizing your neighbours by speeding through your gated California neighbourhood in an expensive Italian sportscar.
It could simply be not dating Selena Gomez.
Space is, after all, the great unknown.
Virgin mogul Richard Branson announced on June 5 that Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun will joining Ashton Kutcher, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie aboard Branson’s Virgin Galactic when it makes its maiden voyage into the final frontier.
Bieber himself responded to Branson by suggesting he wants to “shoot a music video in space,” which itself could be why the Canadian singer was spotted wearing a gigantic gas mask in public during his fractious visit to London in March — for a slight young man, wearing gear so heavy (and dancing in it to boot!) takes practice.
Branson’s Virgin Galactic voyage costs $250,000 a ticket, and is scheduled to take off later this year. A guest at a charity auction in Cannes recently spent $1.2-million to join the flight in a seat beside Leonardo DiCaprio.
