About 35 people have been killed in two attacks by gunmen in Borno State Nigeria.
According to the military, 32 militants, two soldiers and a police officer died in the assaults on a police station and a military base late on Sunday where sophisticated weapons and explosives were used in the attacks.
Although the twin attacks in Borno happened on Sunday, news of them has only just emerged due to breakdown in communications within the region since the state of emergency was declared.
The attacks are suspected to have been carried out by terrorist group Boko Haram, as it follows their usual style of attacks. Although they have not come out to claim responsibility.
