Delta State set to close down illegal schools to improve standard of education

The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education in Delta State Nigeria, Prof. Patrick Muoboghare, has disclosed that the State Government is set to close down 800 illegal schools which are currently operating in the State.

According to the Commissioner, the affected schools (both primary and secondary) do not meet the conditions for effective teaching and learning. He also disclosed that the names of schools certified to operate will be published soon. This will enable parents and guardians can make informed choices about the education of their children/wards.
