#NigeriaDecides: General Muhammadu Buhari, wins Nigeria Presidential elections.

General Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the 2015 Nigeria Presidential elections.

40 million+ Nigerians were accredited to vote in the elections which took place on the 28th – 29th March 2015. However, only about 27 million+ Nigerians voted. According to Nigeria’s electoral laws, a winner is required to secure both a majority and 25% of the vote in two-thirds of Nigeria’s 36 states, and the Federal Capital Territory.

Buhari and President GEJ met this criteria. However, Buhari secured a total of 52.4% of votes cast in the 36 states of Nigeria, beating his major contender, President Goodluck Jonathan. President GEJ who got 43.7%.

Supporters of President-Elect Gen. Buhari and APC have been celebrating with chants of #SaiBuhari and #SaiBaba renting the air. So far, peace is being maintained and supporters of the opposition party have shown good game spirit.
